How To Color Match Your Perfect Foundation Shade
Do you have a hard time finding your perfect foundation shade?
Using the right color for you will complement and enhance your natural beauty, while the wrong color will make you appear washed out or too "orange".
Let's face it, it's not always convenient making it to the makeup counter hoping that a specialist will get your shade right, let alone being left to your own devices with a tester display.
Oxygenetix uses the blue base and yellow base color system to make it easy to find your perfect shade. We made it even easier with a shade matching app you can use on your phone! Go to shadefinder.oxygenetix.com on a mobile device to take the quiz!
What is the blue base/ yellow base color system?
Have you ever noticed that some colors look great on you, but others look jarring and unpleasant? Are you drawn to some colors, but despise others?
This is because you were born either blue or yellow based and look best in the colors of your base (or undertone). You were born with this innate knowledge and are attracted to colors in your spectrum.
The blue base/ yellow base color system is the last scientifically proven system we use today. After decades of University testing and research, Bob Dorr came to the conclusion that everyone is born either blue or yellow based and this dictates your taste, what colors look best on you, and even influences personality!
By using knowledge of the blue base/ yellow base color system to your advantage you can drastically improve your look, the feel in your home, and even increase sales in business. This is a proven theory that has changed lives and increased confidence around the globe.
For more information on the blue-based/ yellow-based color system you can visit Oxygenetix Co-Founder Barry Knapp's daughter & mother, Sophia and Renae Knapp's website beautyandsoulstudio.com. They have an online quiz you can take to analyze your undertone more in depth:

So, why is it important to know your base?
When you have the right foundation shade and wear the right colors in your spectrum, you look healthier, more vibrant and younger. People subconsciously trust you more and you look more put together. If you’re wearing the wrong colors you can look washed out, tired, and unwelcoming.
Finding Your FOUNDATION SHADE
Oxygenetix Foundations come in 7 blue-based (Pearl, Ivory, Taupe, Walnut, Coco, Ebony, & Mahogany) and 7 yellow-based shades (Opal, Creme, Beige, Almond, Honey, Tawny, & Chakra). By deciphering whether you are blue or yellow-based you can easily find your foundation color.

Lighting
Some LED lights have a blue cast, and some light bulbs with yellow tones will affect how your skin appears. Natural lighting is best when trying to match your skin to a foundation shade. Go outside or by a window during the day for the closest color matching results. Experts say 11 am is the most ideal time for natural lighting.
Application
Use a clean finger to tap foundation onto your jawline. When testing on your face make sure you aren't wearing any other makeup at the time.
When testing multiple shades, apply the foundations side by side for maximum comparison. Whichever shade seems to disappear is the right one for you!
Having two foundation shades is a great way to contour. You will also be able to create perfect custom color matches each and every day!
